RafaIsTheKingOfClay people that own & work in pubs want pubs to remain open too!
I’m not against any measure that will make a difference, I am against making certain areas take all the blame with the public when the infections are coming from somewhere else.
Like I said, look at all the posts on mumsnet calling for pubs to close, even though it would make very little difference.

HeresMe · 29/09/2020 18:18

Mumsnet hates pubs that is a fact , well unless they are hosting the mummy's mornings where little Tristan is allowed whole of pub to wonder and fuck anyone else, , but they can't have them at moment so they hate them, well opera bars are ok at least .

@HeresMe
You've got that spot on. As I have been saying from the start the government should never have publicly committed to prioritising schools over anything else due to the fact the extent to which schools spread the virus wasn't known. Now it is obvious that schools are (unavoidably unless we want to enact measures that would be worse than simply returning to home learning supported by teachers remotely) a significantly bigger spread than anything else it is impossible to close them without wrecking the economy despite the science showing that the choice isn't between shutting pubs or shutting schools but rather between shutting schools or shutting other places and schools if we want to reduce the R rate below 1 (or in other words it would be impossible to reduce the R rate below 1 without shutting schools but it is possible to keep pubs open and reduce the rate).

@StatisticalSense

You are correct Mumsnet has a unhealthy obsession with closing pubs, I'm not sure what we can close to help education as education is main driver behind infection at moment

AlecTrevelyan006 · 29/09/2020 19:59

closing pubs, bars and restaurants at 10pm is a complete and utter waste of time that will not stop the spread of the virus but will add to the economic misery for many.

MajesticWhine · 29/09/2020 20:00

10pm closing was a stupid idea to start with. I would like to see the back of it.
