Peace and quiet returns to weekend nights

I'm in GM and we have a local lockdown where no one is supposed to meet anyone from another household anywhere. Friday and Saturday nights are usually disturbed by groups of pissed people walking back from the pub shouting, swearing, arguing. The last two nights have been so quiet, it's bliss! I just hope people aren't mixing indoors instead. I feel sorry for those in hospitality who are going to have a big drop in income though but I definitely prefer the quieter nights. When I get old I'm moving to the middle of nowhere where there's only nature sounds
Is it quieter where you are? Is there any difference? I know I'm a miserable kill joy.

Swansea was dead last night too, though lockdown doesn't officially start until 6pm this evening

Whereas out in the suburbs, we had groups of teenagers gathering and drinking in any green space they could find ... so it's just pushed the late night noise out of the city centres to areas that are harder to police. Thanks.

I am in the suburbs too on the furthest edge of GM that it's possible to be. The park is up at the other end of the village so teens might be congregating there but it's not teens that are usually the ones making the noise when the pubs are open as normal, it's the middle aged men but to be fair there's not many late teens/early 20s here. Lots of young families, lots of elderly people. I think teens have always and will always gather in parks to drink at night. We did as teens and that was in the 90s.

I wish peace and quiet could return to roads (without causing lots econ damage). So many people driving to avoid public transport, boohoo.

I suppose at least you aren't hiding your distaste for anyone with a different lifestyle than yourself under needing to take Covid related precautions.

Freshers week for us starts this week and 10% of the houses around here are student lets (with private bigger student blocks either side of us).

It's quiet, beautifully quiet.

I think the kids in the private halls are terrified about being locked down (the first years are nearly all on campus).

Our local is so rough and last Saturday police had to attend, again.

I don't want any industry to suffer. I only mentioned loss of income in case I got jumped on for not mentioning it but the point of my post was about the lack of drunken anti-social behaviour late at night. It seems so peaceful now and I prefer that.
