Can no longer even chase test results up?

I had a test last week and still haven’t had the results.

I tried calling 119 today and...due to volume of calls they can’t chase test results up anymore. Automated message to just keep isolating for 10 more days after symptoms started if result isn’t back by 72 hours (it’s past that).

I’ve missed important medical appointments for what I’m almost 100% sure is a cold/asthma cough, the same as I get every year. I thought I was doing the right thing but now feel like a complete mug.

Is it just me having this issue? Has anyone else managed to successfully try to chase up a test today?

I can't believe how much it varies, how inconsistent the results processing is. My daughter had a test friday afternoon and had the result back yesterday, less than 24 hours later. What area are you? We're in the southeast. Sorry op, it must be so frustrating.
