I know I'm going to get a cough tomorrow...

I woke up with a really sore throat and a slightly runny nose. My throat is still a bit sore but much better after drinking fluids and an ibuprofen. My nose is running like a tap now though, so I've got a cold in full swing. Sneeze city.
But, I've had the odd slight cough today. And I know from experience this is going to get much worse over the next 24-48hrs because that's just what happens when I get a cold. So my Monday my cough is likely to be in "testing" territory. I'm so annoyed! Of course I'll do what I need to do but this means DCs will have to miss school too (one is SI until Tue due to a case in his bubble but he's perfectly well).

I'm just venting, really. This winter is going to be so bloody crap!

You might not, I usually always get a cough with colds, but thankfully had the runny nose, sore throat etc without a cough, temp or loss of taste!

You have my sympathy, I’ve never had a cold without a cough that lasts for weeks.

I hope you feel better soon

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 26/09/2020 21:09

Dry or phlegmy?

THisbackwithavengeance · 26/09/2020 21:11

Me too OP.

Had a sore throat, runny nose, sneezing etc and now I'm starting to cough.

I always get the same cold/cough around this time every year but now of course I'm worried that it's covid and we are going to have to isolate.

I get this too and dd gets awful coughs so even with a negative test she might feel a bit awkward in school! Very difficult isn’t it.

Both my dc have started coughing today but they also have runny noses and are sneezing and a close school friend tested negative this week so presumably they all have the same cold but this leaves us in a tricky position. I think we are going to have to try to get hold of tests so that they can go to school with no issues this week.
