Not wanting to see my boyfriend tomorrow because he's spent 2 days with someone that had covid and her husband still has it

So my boyfriend's sister called to him 3 days ago and spent the night. He hasn't seen her as a month ago she along with her husband and son tested positive. She had mild enough symptoms but the husband is still very unwell and in bed. My boyfriend said there's nothing to worry about, that they're no longer contagious. However I'm worried about seeing my boyfriend tomorrow now. Am I being silly?

People are only infectious for the first ten days, that's why that's the length of the isolation period. No need to worry.

I don't know for how long an unwell person remains infectious.

You're not being silly to be worried, what you need is good facts! Someone will hopefully know...

What about those 3 guys in Italy (Brits) they kept testing as positive even after 3 weeks.

Testing positive is not the same as being able to infect others. See the American Centre for Disease Control verdict here:

That's not quite right, there's a bit more to it...

in line with the CDC‘s recommendation that a person diagnosed with COVID-19 can be released from isolation after 10 days from symptom onsetand at least three days from fever resolution and improvement in respiratory symptoms

@Petals23. Was he socially distancing from his sister? If he was I imagine the chances of you getting it from him are really really minute

However, don't be pushed into seeing him if you'd rather not take the risk. Wait two weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️ Your choice, not his.
