I've been feeling rough for 4 days, getting worse. Cough, headache, aching body, temp. Thought might be a cold at first but symptoms getting worse. Been for a test this lunchtime. Results in 24-48 hours. I feel rotten. Don't think I've ever felt this poorly.

I started feeling rubbish on Monday night, started coughing on Tuesday and by Wednesday I had a temperature and was feeling dizzy. Booked a test just to prove it wasn't covid and got a positive result yesterday morning 🤦🏻‍♀️. I'm not feeling that bad tbh, I'm really tired and my head is sore constantly. I'm talking myself into feeling breathless but I think that self perpetuating. I'm just waiting on the horrible symptoms to start Sad

ShoppingAllDay · 25/09/2020 14:12

I think if I get a positive it will make me feel
Worse because I will start thinking about symptoms I've not got Sad I mainly have a headache so talking my self that it probably will be negative.
Hope you feel better soon.

I just had a test this afternoon, started the week feeling like a had a cold but none of the symptoms of covid. Not had a temperature, smell and taste normal. Started with an annoying cough today though.

ShoppingAllDay · 25/09/2020 17:11

@ScatteredMama82
That's how I started but seems to be getting worse now with a terrible headache. How are you feeling now?

Pissed off at how hard it is for people to a) get tests and b) get the results. If the process was better than I suspect adherence would be much improved.

ShoppingAllDay · 25/09/2020 17:27

@DorsetBlueMovie whereabouts are you. I've heard about people struggling to get a test but I found it easy went on last night about 9pm and booked for this morning

ShoppingAllDay · 25/09/2020 17:28

I had to do test myself, I just hope it is accurate and I don't it right

I got mine through work, but others who don't have that benefit have struggled. Took my sister ages to get one for her and my nephew. My irritation about access is on other's behalf.... the results lag is wholly my personal frustration Grin

PrivateD00r · 25/09/2020 17:34

OP, I hope you feel better soon Flowers

ShoppingAllDay · 25/09/2020 17:47

@PrivateD00r thank you. I think I'm more worried about what could happen, the thought that I could end up in hospital is giving me anxiety Sad

Yes waiting for results could be a different story. A colleague was waiting 3 days

Me,has a test yesterday evening - had a sore throat and temp and now started with a headache. Feel crappiest I have in years. So if it's not Covid,it's something else that's shit

chobmon · 25/09/2020 19:22

I've had a test today - I have another thread about it. My biggest fear is that the result will be inconclusive - I don't think I swabbed my throat for the full ten seconds. If it's inconclusive, it will be too late to get another one for me.

ScatteredMama82 · 25/09/2020 23:07

@ShoppingAllDay my head is pounding now 😟

ScatteredMama82 · 25/09/2020 23:09

@DorsetBlueMovie I looked last night and there were no tests available but this morning there were loads. I got a drive in appointment, did the swab myself (hope I did it right!) and off I went. It was very slick, just hope the results come quickly

ShoppingAllDay · 26/09/2020 08:10

@ScatteredMama82 my head was like that yesterday. I couldn't move. The headache made me think maybe it's just a cold (not sure if headache was such a symptom). Hopefully will receive results today

DS (13) was tested yesterday. He started with cold symptoms on Wed then developed a temp. That subsided quite quickly but he then started coughing. He felt a bit better yesterday, It look like a cold (back to school germs) so I will be surprised if he gets a positive. Hope the results come asap. Hope everyone feels better soon.

eurochick · 26/09/2020 09:34

My daughter was sent home with a temperature on Wednesday. She was really ill for about three hours then fine. We posted off our home test yesterday (no drive throughs available) so are now waiting for the results. She is now bouncing off the walls and we are both trying to keep her entertained while working.

@MrsJackRackham

When did you get a test -and your results? That seems astonishingly quick

cheeeeesy · 26/09/2020 09:52

I’ve been for a test this morning. Had a cold/headache all week and yesterday started coughing. I think it’s just a cold but need to make sure.

Went in line at 7 this morning and there were slots available all day so went in at 8.

Ds is fuming 😂, thinks I’ve over reacted and now can’t go out with his mates whilst we wait for results.

MrsJackRackham · 26/09/2020 12:02

@Afibtomyboy Central Scotland, I logged onto the test site at 2, chose my test time for 1530 and received my results at 0800 the next morning. That's pretty standard here just now. A couple of weeks ago it was taking 48 hours but it seems to have got a lot quicker in the past week.

ShoppingAllDay · 26/09/2020 12:18

Had my results and I am positive Sad

OP posts:
DorsetBlueMovie · 26/09/2020 12:37

Sorry @ShoppingAllDay Thanks
Keep resting and look after yourself. I know you mentioned you would probably get more anxious if you had a positive result. Might be a good time to limit social media or block the CV boards for a bit, I get much more panicky if I stray into them too much.

Hope you feel better soon.

ShoppingAllDay · 26/09/2020 17:22

@DorsetBlueMovie thank you Thanks
