What do people think will happen if everyone bends the rules?

I see people on here and in life a lot saying that they won't stick to the rules.

Just interested what do people think will happen?

I'm no fan of the government and their rules and often their lies, but presumably they are now trying to suppress the spread and keep the economy limping along.

Surely if everyone just carries on doing exactly whatever, then we will end up with a severely overwhelmed NHS this Winter, or the government will have no alternative but to close everything again, which will also be catastrophic.

Or is there another outcome?

I agree OP. All these threads bending or ignoring them a little bit, only adds to the problem.

There has been a trend of England following Scotland anyway, or Scotland going slightly harsher then England following, take masks for example. I think the no indoor meeting thing will follow in England, then the inevitable lockdown for us all.

I'm pregnant and haven't been anywhere except my parents with Dd. Am in Scotland. She can still go, I can't. I'm not going to ignore that even though it is silly because I don't think I'm exempt from the rules.

If everyone bends the ruled, cases will keep rising, the NHS will become the CHS again and we'll have to close the pubs, schools and gyms etc

What do I think will happen depends on what breach you’re talking about. If everyone decides to meet indoors in groups of 30, cases would rise. If, for example (and I haven’t done this) I didn’t fully self isolate when track and trace told me to because I went for a short walk in deserted countryside at 2am, I don’t think anything much will happen at all.

If everyone breaks the rules and cases continue to rise either we will have to kick down again or just get on and live with it. I don’t think the government are at yet living with it stage yet so I guess pubs, restaurants and schools will close. All the parents going on about how education is the most important thing, but little Jimmy needs his play dates and birthday party are going to have a shock coming if they don’t think schools will close if they carry on the way they are.

It would help if the rules were actually enforced.
I live In Bradford so have been in local lockdown for a bit now... our numbers continue to rise because people are jist carrying on as normal with no consequences.
The only places we've been recently are work, the supermarkets, school and the inlaws for childcare. Judging by the rest of the city we shod have been doing as we bloody well please

We will have the 2-3 week circuit breaker lockdown if everyone doesn't listen to the rules. That's why the first ministers and mayors want weekly COBRA meetings so it can be planned and implemented nationwide.
