Boots say they dont do flu vaccines for aged under 11 and Lloyds say they dont do aged under 18. Does anyone know anywhere that does if for aged under 11? Thank you

Gp?

oRGANIChONEY · 22/09/2020 15:57

Superdrug. My kids are 4.5 and 2.5.
Can't have the drop due to the pork ingredient so we always have the vaccine at superdrug, cost £9 or something last year. The 4.5 has had it since he was 2.5.

the nhs do it in all primary schools?
Have done for years

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 22/09/2020 15:58

Don't they get it at school?

ChilledTomotoes · 22/09/2020 15:58

I thought all children at primary and year 7s will be getting it at school?

Mippi · 22/09/2020 15:58

Are school not doing it this year?

MotherPiglet · 22/09/2020 16:00

Gp?

Char2015 · 22/09/2020 16:00

NHS funded - It's only schools that do it for the majority of primary aged children (some exemptions if child is home schooled, or can't have nasal spray). Is there a reason you don't want to wait for school?

Private - try Superdrug?

scaevola · 22/09/2020 16:01

They should get the sniff at school (that's a programme which will be thorough buggered up if there are many closures)

If your DC does not go to school, or if they need the jab (not sniff) for medical reasons, contact your GP

If you just want jab rather than sniff for other reasons, you'll have to find a private GP or a travel clinic might do them

Frazzled2207 · 22/09/2020 16:05

they all get it at school. We have been told that they are coming to our school first week november. That's why it's not commonly available otherwise.

munchbunch12 · 22/09/2020 16:26

We went to Superdrug, had to go into a main branch where a nurse did it though. DS was about 9, and children his age didn't get it at school at that time.

vaccines243 · 22/09/2020 17:48

Just phoned main branch of Superdrug - thanks for the suggestion but they say they are not doing flu vaccines this year. Does anyone know otherwise for Superdrug this year?

I know flu vaccine is normally done in school (except for my immunosuppressed kid who needed an injection at GP not nasal spray previously). However this year our school are booked for 17th Dec and am concerned that my kids wont be in school by then or it will be too late and would like to pay for it to be done earlier.

Have tried 3 private hospitals without success. Our GP dont have vaccines in for kids yet and are not taking bookings until they get the stocks in.

If you call a private doctor, they will probably be doing it.

Underhisi · 22/09/2020 18:17

I don't think they will be available anywhere for a while. Our GP hasn't been given a date yet.

tryingmybest29 · 22/09/2020 18:17

My kids get them done at school!

vaccines243 · 22/09/2020 18:36

Yes all kids get them done at primary school plus year 7 this year too. Tried 3 private hospitals (their GP services) without success. Any other suggestions.

Gps do not do them. If they miss the date a school you contact the school nursing service and they will arrange a catch up session.

vaccines243 · 22/09/2020 19:06

GPs do them for immunosuppressed kids as they did my sons last year as he couldnt have nasal one.

I had the same issue last year Op no pharmacy was offering for under 18 and my GP refused to give it then because they don’t have any health problems but my youngest 2 got it from school and they will be getting it again in school this year but it’s not until November.
