Being reported that this will be announced - I'm meant to be going to a wedding next week...

I wonder when it will be enforced from? Maybe Thursday like the pubs? Sad

It's from Monday, so theoretically they'll be fine for this weekend if everyone still wants to go and the venue are happy...

We got married in August, very different to what we planned, but I'm really, really glad we did it. This is so tough for brides and grooms, and for their guests. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I was due to get married this weekend.

I feel very sorry for those who have weddings booked after this comes in- imagine having to cut your list down and inform people they didn't make the cut!

Churches can still have 30 on a Sunday so don’t understand the new 15 limit at all. It’s still masks and 2 metres apart no singing etc. If it’s 15 inside then should apply everywhere

Waiting to hear if it’s the same rule in Scotland as ours is very very soon!

It has been announced. The PM announced it today in the HOC but will be addressing the nation tonight at 8 p.m. It applies to England from Monday 28th September.

The article you linked to even stated in it twice that this comes into effect in Monday. Did you actually read it?

My heart goes out to all the couples and industry workers affected by this.

I did read it, thanks. You’ll see my OP was written before the announcement. Online articles can be edited after they are posted, FYI. It’s amazing, modern technology.

Fortunately for us it's from Monday. We are at a wedding on Friday which is, obviously as only days away, all ready to go. Bride and groom are already in the location/venue in advance.

I assume it's an early finish for all though as I assume the hospitality rules apply for weddings regardless from Thursday.
