Just tell me if you think I should go home...

Sorry for the gross tmi:

I have solid phlegm at the back of my nose that I can't shift and it's making me cough - not involuntary, rather a 'trying to shift it' cough. It tickles. I have a headache, raspy voice, very slight sore throat - I can feel it when I swallow.

I do not have a temperature, loss of smell, or a cough I can't control. I don't feel particularly ill, although not 100%.

Colleague says I should go home and get a test; I say I have a cold, which is situation normal for this time of year. If I have to be off with stuff like this every time, I'm never going to be in work.

What do you think?

I don't think you need to be off just sounds like a normal cold.
No high temperature
No persistant cough
No loss of smell/taste
No need to get a test.

That's what I thought, thank you!

Definitely sounds like a cold , stick to your guns . Hope you feel better soon my cold took 10 days to go😫

Sounds like a cold. You will have had enough colds in your life to know how that feels, and presumably never had covid so would recognise that you felt ill in a different way. No temperature and sore throat/phlegmy indicators of a cold.
Flu may be more tricky to identify the difference I'm guessing.

Sounds like a cold to me. I'm off work today with a cold - yes, I could work but I also know that it'll take me much longer to shrug this off if I don't take care of myself, so I'm indulging myself Smile
