Just wondering is this company decision or new government guidance.
Barriers up.
Queues outside
Long queues at tills.
Local Morrisons , aldis
Low covid area England non lockdown.

Pleased to report both shops ok availability.
Lots tinned items, pasta and toiliet roll.

Won't be fun queuing in winter but if ut keeps us safer as supermarkets been slack for months.
Shopping will take so much longer.
Felt like i was back in March.

I’ve just been to Aldi and it’s the first time I’ve seen it without a queue for a very long time 🤷‍♀️.

Oliversmumsarmy · 19/09/2020 14:47

No queues around here

dementedpixie · 19/09/2020 14:52

I've not seen queues for weeks. Dh was in tesco and morrisons today and no queues

FromTheAshes · 19/09/2020 14:52

I'm just back from morrisons. If anything I'd say it's much better organised than for the last couple of months. Better sanitiser stations, clearly identified basket and trolley queues and staff members on hand to guide and direct. It was the calmest shop I've had for a long while.

I'm in Melbourne and when we went back into lockdown in July supermarkets immediately put limits on toilet paper, pasta, tinned food, milk, and bread. It was like that for about 3 weeks so there was enough of everything for everyone.

We're still in lockdown but no limits on anything now and everyone is buying what they need, or just slightly more 👀

I’m just back from Asda. It was very quiet for a Saturday. No queues and shelves fully stocked.

UnaMujer · 19/09/2020 15:26

Just to add we’re in an area that is locking down from Tuesday so I expected it to be very busy with people stocking up but it wasn’t at all.

PleasantVille · 19/09/2020 15:26

No queues at all when I was at Asda earlier and really quick at the tills too

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 19/09/2020 15:28

No queues here - all very organised

And no evidence of stockpiling either - probably not what you wanted to hear doom mongers!

We have a small queue outside our local Tesco's (about five on average each time) as customers are cleaning trolleys and using santizer again, a few had become a bit lapse. We're in a low risk area at the moment.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/09/2020 15:29

Not where I am they aren't. I was in Asda today.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/09/2020 15:30

No empty shelves either, plenty of loo roll and paracetamol!

OllysArmy · 19/09/2020 15:32

Been to Sainsbury’s queue outside to get in but that is understandable and was fast moving. Shelves well stocked, plenty of wine and bread which was what I needed.

IsadoraQuagmire · 19/09/2020 15:36

I've never had to queue to get into a supermarket (except when I've arrived a few minutes before the shop opened)
The only queue I've actually seen during lockdown, was outside a barber's shop when they re-opened!

SallySeven · 19/09/2020 15:37

No queues in our area.

felineflutter · 19/09/2020 15:38

Tesco. Low stocks of Paracetamol only a couple of packets left. Everything else not too bad but you can tell loo roll and sugar has taken a battering today!

Jourdain11 · 19/09/2020 15:38

London, big Tesco. Quiet for a Saturday, no queues, nothing out of stock as far as I could tell!

MarmiteCrumpet25 · 19/09/2020 15:39

Waitrose busy bit no queue

TableFlowerss · 19/09/2020 15:40

No queues here

Eaumyword · 19/09/2020 15:43

Back from Tesco's. Easy to park, plenty of everything in stock and lovely and calm inside. No queues to get in or to pay. Everyone wearing a mask and respectful of distance, except one woman who was doing neither.
It was a good experience!

Lilybet1980 · 19/09/2020 15:44

Not seen a queue for a few weeks now (London).

I was just saying this morning though that shops seem to have stopped “policing” the number if people in at a time. Local Waitrose says 50 max but definitely more in than that the other day. And they haven’t bothered to replace the sanitiser outside for days now.
