Dd feels sick and has a blocked nose

Dd had the flu spray three days ago and was up in the night feeling sick. She also has a blocked nose.
I’ve logged it in the Zoe app and as it’s not any of the three main symptoms I won’t try to get her a test unless the app tells me to
But what do I do about school? Will they expect her to be back tomorrow if she feels ok again or do I keep her home for two weeks just in case? There have been 3 in her class who’ve had tests already and 2 have returned so far after getting a negative test.

She's not got covid symptoms, send her back to school as you would usually do.

You keep her home if she feels I'll and send her back when she's better. You dont have to even think about testing/isolating unless she develops a temperature, persistent cough or loses her sense of smell/taste. If it's the latter you're worried about, try steaming her w ulbas oil or menthol. Once unlocked you'll probably find she can smell at least a bit.

Great, thank you.

Send her back (if she's well enough).
As a teacher, I had 10 pupils off yesterday with runny noses and I find it very frustrating that they're missing out on their education and it really disrupts their learning.

She doesn’t have Covid symptoms. Keep her off for as long as you usually would for the symptoms she has.

KnobChops · 16/09/2020 07:48

I she feels sick I’d keep her off today and see how she is tomorrow. It could be a norovirus or something else highly contagious. Agree I would not keep them off with simple cold symptoms.

Also the Zoe app seems to ask anyone who reports not feeling well with virtually any random symptom to get a test. In the current circumstances, unless you want to spend days trying to get a test and then driving miles for it then waiting days again for the result I wouldn’t bother. It is a shame for their data but until the testing fiasco sorts itself out I think it would be more hassle than it’s worth.
