'Prioritising tests'

I heard on the radio this morning that they are going to be prioritising tests to the most urgent. What does this mean for income? I can't afford to take 14 days off work if I get a cough that may or may not be covid. And I'm sure many others can't either. It was bad enough that results can sometimes take several days but 2 weeks is shocking. When will this mess get sorted out? Or are they going to pay us all to stay off? (And no, SSP isn't sufficient!)

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss

Getting quite scary the amount who will send in sick children as they can’t get a test rather than isolate to stop the spread.
Yes, it is scary.

But it makes me realise how unsafe it is for ds, and that we just can't risk it
