If you booked a test online, how long until you got a confirmation email?

Managed to book a test at a drive in centre an hour away from me. I put in my car registration and followed the steps then it took me back to the main page, but I have no qr code or anything to say that I've booked. It's too far to drive if I've messed up the booking, how can I check if I'm actually booked in?

I had this problem.
I finally got a text the following morning saying there had been a system error and I was to turn up at my allocated time.
No QR code, which meant I got asked by several different people on site for it, and had to keep yelling through the closed window “no code. Technical problem”.
It wasn’t an issue and I got my test results the following day.

I'm not sure exactly what time it was though! Or the address of the testing centre. I know the area but looking online the test centre seems to have moved about several times. I wonder if the helplines can help with this?

I was so surprised at getting a slot after trying since 6am this morning it all went in a blur after that.

When I did it and this happened I turned up and was told no QR code , no test. And I wasn’t allowed one.
Unless you have a screen in green stating “appointment confirmed” with the time date and reg underneath then you don’t have one.

Email 2nd time around for me was instant.

Book another

SeekingCoffee33 · 14/09/2020 19:42

I got mine immediately

PrincessSarene · 14/09/2020 19:46

What @Changedmynameagain1 said. We thought we had a test booked this evening. Had a screenshot with the details and everything but hadn’t got the green confirmation banner. Turned up at the test centre and it wasn’t on their system so they couldn’t do anything. Have rebooked for tomorrow and got a text and email straight away with the confirmation of the appointment.

What a shit show.

What would be wrong with turning up, giving your details and getting tested?

I know of somebody who drove 60 miles today (England into Wales) with two small kids, only to be turned back and told there was an error in the booking. A doctor, too. That doctor is now isolating at home. Hospitals are expecting staff to use the NHS portal to determine if their household needs to isolate. They won’t test family members, it’s quite bonkers.

Fucks sake, can't get a slot now. I was offered one 85 miles away, quickly checked if ex DP could take DD but in that 2 minutes the slot disappeared Angry

This happened to us. The confirmation comes instantly. If you go back to the start then it isn't booked.

Opticabbage · 14/09/2020 20:26

I'm not sure that's true. My partner is a nurse and his employer referred him for priority testing today, and they tested our 2 year old too.
