Just that really. Nothing available where we are at all....

Not managed here. Got told to go to the walk in as they take non appointments. Queued an hour, got told they were only taking appointments after that

lulubooboo · 14/09/2020 09:55

No, been trying since yesterday midday. Tried a walk in near us but they refused due to overrun labs apparently...so frustrating.

2Kidsinatrenchcoat · 14/09/2020 09:57

Nope, been trying for 3 hours so far.

Babyboomtastic · 14/09/2020 09:59

Nope.

lasangoles · 14/09/2020 10:07

I've been told the nearest test centre to me is Aberdeen. I don't even live in Scotland...

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 14/09/2020 10:15

Just managed to get an appointment for 1pm at the walk in that turned us away earlier 🤦‍♀️

2Kidsinatrenchcoat · 14/09/2020 10:20

Just managed to get an appointment at our nearest, they added about 50 new slots at 10am

Beebityboo · 14/09/2020 10:20

Managed to get a postal test booked here (West Mids) . Was quite surprised as thought it would be more difficult, think we just got lucky!

Zofloramummy · 14/09/2020 10:33

Got a postal test this morning after trying all day yesterday with no success.

ivfbeenbusy · 14/09/2020 10:37

You can get tests from a local private maternity clinic near me (ie one that does baby scans etc) for £75 so figured by the time you factor in cost of petrol and a whole day out of your life to get to a testing station 100s of miles away it's worth paying

PutOnAHappyFace · 14/09/2020 10:39

Just booked one 45 mins away but I wasn't taking the chance of having to wait any longer, I've been trying since Saturday. We are north west.

HairyMaclary · 14/09/2020 10:41

Yes! Phew! 3 devices in constant refresh, best time seems just after the hour (although which hour is anyone’s guess!) I got a mobile testing place 9 mile (1 hour travel) away.

Magentastorm101 · 14/09/2020 11:54

Anyone else think it's ridiculous?

My son currently has a cough, which he gets most winters as he has asthma, he has no other symptoms yet him and everyone else have to stay off until he has a negative test. But we cannot for the life of us get a test!

So they want people to get tested with just one symptom which is common for children to have at this time of year, yet their aren't enough tests available 🤦🏼‍♀️

Surely it would make more sense to have it as two symptoms or more?

mumum1 · 14/09/2020 11:58

Been trying since yesterday morning, literally checking every 30mins. No luck! Absolutely nothing

bestbefore · 14/09/2020 12:00

I managed to get a driving test after a 2 hour wait in the online Q! Flowers

StatisticalSense · 14/09/2020 12:03

A family member of a certain Kier Starmer has supposedly booked a test since developing symptoms some time after 9am this morning but also to have already had that test. Either that or Sir Kier decided that going into the LBC studio while meant to be self isolating was an appropriate thing to do.

VioletCharlotte · 14/09/2020 15:53

I managed to get a test for DS after lots refreshing. Eventually booked at 10am for 6.39 this evening. 40 miles away, but still counting ourselves lucky. It's really not good enough that so many can't get a test at all.

AiryFairyMum · 14/09/2020 15:55

Nothing at all anywhere here and no postal tests. What a shit show.

Frazzled2207 · 14/09/2020 15:58

@StatisticalSense
That’s not quite right. The family member got tested quickly because his wife works in an nhs hospital and they have a policy to test any family members of staff who are symptomatic on demand. That was according to the guardian.

RedCorvette · 14/09/2020 16:01

Tried to get a test this morning - entered name/mobile number/email address/post code, two local options came up. Good, I thought, and clicked one. I then had to answer some other questions, before being presented with a 'busy, try again later' screen again and again.

Despite the block capitals saying 'no walk in appointments available', I drove the mile down the road to my local walk-in testing centre, and was tested immediately. All I had to do was scan a QR code after doing the test and fill out my details on my phone to get the results.

Absolutely pathetic system - a complete and utter shambles.

lexloofah · 14/09/2020 16:14

DD has a temp of 39.4

This morning it was outright rejection by website, looks like it was turned off with a holding page

Now able to as advance a little further but it is only teasing with x slots available as then does not offer any time slots. No home tests available
I can't find any info on local walk in, it looks like it might be the same as the drive in one 14 miles away which may only test over 18s only, the website was unclear.

It should not be down to luck, your postcode or hacks. Slow clap for BJ and this government, what have they been doing all summer?

imaflutteringkite · 14/09/2020 16:16

No nothing at all. So annoying.

SausageSimon · 14/09/2020 17:16

No luck here, both me and my son are off work and school. Was hoping to get tested today to be back Wednesday but no luck so far

Magentastorm101 · 15/09/2020 12:12

Finally managed to get a test this morning but still have a 4 hour round trip
