Ds8 has had a temp of above 38, heavy cold symptoms and has just been sick. He had a test today. Waiting for results. Wondering how children seem to present with Covid?

Recent research from Zoe app people covers this very topic!

Just had youngest DD tested, high temp and just generally stuffy and tired, I suspect it’s a cold but let’s see.

DNephew however has tested positive last week, he only got tested as his dad was positive, and mum and others in the family.

He is 5 and had one day of a slightly raised temp a few days before the test and no symptoms since. Everyone else in the family who have a positive result is mild. General fatigue, slight cough in two of them, that’s it.

Ds had covid back in March (he was 10). His first symptom was a sore throat for a few days, then a fever, he vomited once, then the cough started. He was also exhausted and achey. He didn’t have a runny nose or diarrhoea.

He did seem to get worse symptoms than any other children I know despite him being really healthy, slim, no underlying problems so he may not be a completely representative case! Smile

Good luck for your ds, I hope he feels better soon! Flowers

Ds was snotty with a fever over 38.6c with one episode of vomiting and his result came back negative.

My dc 18 months has got a cough now but not a continuous, just one cough once an hour and it's a mucous cough. No temp but a slight runny nose. Also when he coughed in the middle of night last night, he vomited. I'm guessing the mucous is making him sick. Should I get dc tested? He is 18 months.

My children have only been diagnosed by the doctor because when they had symptoms, it was late February so no testing.
Dd had a bad cough, headaches, a temp of 37.8, her ears were quite red and sore inside and she took about two weeks to recover.
Ds had a higher temp 38.8 was its highest. He had very bad headaches, very sore throat, all he could do was sleep. He recovered from that phase after a week but the cough started a month later with a loss of taste and smell. The cough took about a month to go but he felt ok in himself.
I had awful headaches for three days, through the day and night, like a pulsating pain. Dh had nothing! He has an antibody test soon so it’ll be interesting to see the results.

DD (7) got tested today. Runny nose, fever, fatigue (she slept all afternoon) and - more recently - a minor cough (once every 15 mins or so).

I don’t think it’s covid but hopefully it won’t take too long to get our result.

Forgot to say... Fever is 38.5 now but it was 39+ yesterday.
