Is everyone doing this? Because no-one is checking the forms at any point. I flew into Heathrow last week, and wasn’t asked for the form at all. I came through the electronic gates, collected my bag and left the airport. I also think the chances of people actually self isolating are quite slim, as no-one seems to know of anyone who has been checked on.

I was asked if I had filled it in but not asked to show it.

They may be checking airline passenger info against the list prior to travel and flagging anyone who hasn't? Hopefully anyway.

I was told it is linked to your passport by the guy who checked my passport coming back. Is it really worth the stress and a potential fine? Just fill it in

Oh I filled it in, obviously. But I’ve got two passports, so what if I had filled in the details of one and entered UK on another one?

And won’t the whole tracing idea be reliant on someone who catches CV19 actually letting the airline or the U.K. government know?

Then presumably the scan of your passport would have picked up that it wasn't attached to a form.

But of course tracing is not failsafe...

I’ve flown twice since the start of the pandemic, both times into Newcastle airport. Both times we have been asked to show our completed forms. Those who hadn’t filled them in were asked to do so at the border.

I flew in from NY in early August to Heathrow and was asked if I'd completed the form but not asked to show it. I wasn't contacted at all during my stay.

As a comparison, when I returned to JFK, I had to fill in a form from the CDC, and everyone had to speak to a CDC rep when getting off the plane and have their temperature checked. I was called the following day and spoke to a Public Health Official. He clarified that I knew what Covid symptoms to look out for and then I understood I had a 14 day quarantine. I was told I was able to walk my dog so I've been out walking early and late in the day. I have been contacted on a daily basis to confirm that I have no symptoms and a final message yesterday saying my quarantine period was over.

So two very different experiences of quarantine and passenger follow-ups.

We did flying in from a country you did not have to quarantine from and the firm was checked at passport control (both of ours and the person in fronts was too) so they are doing some checks.

Interesting - are you in NY or another state? I’m assuming the Public Health Official was state rather than federal?

We were told its linked to your passport at border control and my OH received a phone call a day later to confirm that we were isolating for 14 days.

Ours was checked at Edinburgh. We didn't receive any sort of follow up though about isolating.
