D and v with fever- does my Dd need a test

Dd has had what appears to be a bad stomach bug but has had a fever of 39. Does she need a test? I’ve tried all day yesterday but none available. Am I being over cautious?

Yes fever is a symptom and 39 is very high. Also children get gastrointestinal symptoms. Keep trying on the Gov website and try 119

Yes, she has a fever.
It is not rocket science.

In the case of your daughter (fever) then yes a test is required.

NHS - fever is a testable symptom so on those grounds yes.

New (peer reviewed) data has shown that children show D and V as an early symptom (however due to slowness and reticence of our ridiculous excuse of our government and lack of UKs ability to keep up with testing then alone D and V doesn't need testing Angry)

Yes. She has a fever.

No, you're not definitely not being over-cautious. D&V can be a symptom of Covid, so the fact that your child's fever is accompanied by D&V in no way rules out the possibility of Covid.

So yes your DD should definitely be tested.
