Rules for pubs

Rule of 6 in pubs - confused!

Notfeelinggreattoday - yeah that's exactly what I was getting at - to open up a pub the publican has to breach this rule of general social distancing of 2m between people - as tables don't allow that space between members of a group. But as I am trying to follow rules to the letter if possible I was hoping someone would know where the clear exemption was stated to this. But it doesn't exist and honestly I am nervous and worried about opening as I can't see how it can not lead to transmission? Thanks for all your input and wish me luck!
