Covid symptoms in children

Study carried out by the group behind the ZOE app found that the most common complaints in symptomatic children were

Fatigue - 55%
Headache - 54%
Fever - 50%
Sore throat 38%

Just thought this was useful info to help identify potential cases in children given that these are quite different to the publicised symptoms. Interesting that cough wasn’t mentioned at all!

Maybe thats why it doesn't spread quite as fast among children if they aren't coughing their germs out everywhere

I’m not sure enough is known about the extent of spread in children. What seems to be the case is they’re as likely as anyone else to pass on the virus.

Should note that the study only looked at 198 children.

Here is the report from the Zoe app people themselves. It says that over half of school age children who tested positive for Covid did not have any of the classic adult symptoms (cough, fever, anosmia). Looks like the government should be urgently revising its advice on what symptoms warrant a test in children.
