How long to get test results at the moment

Posted a test to the lab on Friday, it was collected on Saturday and should have arrived at the lab on Monday. Have checked and they have received it, but still no results.

Has anyone had any results back this week?

My niece had one at Stansted on Monday evening. Her results came through on Tuesday late afternoon.

DD's friend had one in Rotherham at the weekend - it took just under 48 hours to come through.

A colleague had one on Monday evening or Tuesday morning. She hadn't had her results by the time I left school today.

I had one yesterday at 4:30pm. Still awaiting results.

Tested at 12pm today, got results back at 3pm today. I'm not far from a localised lockdown area and I know our test centres have been heaving. Previously, during quiet times, results have taken around 24 hours. It's anybody's guess at the moment. If you haven't had your results after 72 hours you can phone up I think.

Received at the lab yesterday 7.30am, no results yet.

As I understand the system there are multiple labs with different types of tests and different volumes of tests, there's no universal system that means that all tests take a set time to come back and from everything you hear it's not even standard from day to day at each lab.

Tbh I think it's to be expected, it's a mammoth task to set up a new system literally from nothing and expect standarisation, we didn't have the testing infrastucture as we didn't need it, hopefully we'll get a better system before to long

It was received on Monday, still no results. It does make a mockery of test and trace, as whole point is to be able to let people know, which of course you can’t do until you have a result.
I can’t see how this is going to work going forward unless the government can get a grip on this.

No results yet for me (so 49 hours since test done) or my colleague (did day before mine)

GiantPinesAhem · 10/09/2020 17:35

Tested 3pm Monday, results at 10pm yesterday- so around 55 hours.

My friend sent her postal test off last Tuesday and got her result this morning, so 9 days. Luckily it was negative... if it was positive track and trace would have been absolutely useless with those time scales.

Jammysod · 10/09/2020 17:39

I waited around 36hrs for mine at the weekend , but in a 'red' area so may be prioritised I guess.
Husband waited 12 days a couple of months ago, we phoned a couple of times to chase it up but they just fobbed us off. They can't check the status & said they would have to email somewhere to escalate it.

Aragog · 12/09/2020 08:28

Mine arrived yesterday - was about 66 hours from the point of handing my test in at the test centre.

LimeTreeGrove · 12/09/2020 08:32

I did a postal one and it took 3 days after they received it to get results. 7 days between me ordering it and receiving results

Posted back on Friday 4th September and results back today the 14th, fortunately negative. But whole family had to isolate for 10 days.
