Am I correct in understanding the rule applies to where you live not where you are going.Dh has a pre booked trip to Wales next week.18 of them.It was his 60 th birthday do too.
I understand Wales has different rules but surely 18 people can't suddenly gather across a border?
What do you think?

I would have thought it was where you actually were. Otherwise you could have a group of 18 coming from Wales to have a party in Bolton ;)

whatisforteamum · 09/09/2020 18:07

I think he shouldn't be going and potentially mixing with loads more households.😥

It must be where you are it is un policable otherwise!

Was hoping to go to Scotland for Christmas despite it but I do have a feeling nicola will have changed the rules by then too!

Juniperandrage · 09/09/2020 18:14

if its South Wales i wouldn't imagine it will happen anyway, sorry. It's pretty much all on the verge of lockdowns

When the pubs were shut in Leicester the residents could not travel to the next county to visit an open pub. That is.why I am asking.

Wales is still up to 30 people outside. Rules are applied locally, so 30 of them playing golf is fine. Travelling there you'd have to check - is it essential travel only in England yet? I don't think it is.

DoubleDolphin · 09/09/2020 18:33

If you are in wales, you follow the rules of wales, so he should be fine.

Yes, they could. The pubs in Nottingham etc didn't want them to visit, but there was no rule/ guideline against it.

When they travel to Wales they'll need to follow the rules set by the Welsh government.

There are definitely now rumblings about a Cardiff lockdown (even though the rate isn't anywhere near as high as Caerphilly) but not sure about Newport.
