Please don't come for me... I just need some clarity!
This new 6 person rule..... does it include babies? For example a 3 month old and an5 month old?

Is there any suggestions gyms may close? I'm 16 week pp and finally ready to go back. I was due to sign up again today and I've been SO excited :(

It currently looks like it includes all people so yes that includes babies. They're trying to make it as simple as possible.

Rossita · 09/09/2020 09:34

Yes I believe it does.

FelicityPike · 09/09/2020 09:44

Yes, they’re people.

WellThatsNew · 09/09/2020 09:51

Of course it does. Your baby is a person so counts in the 6 people.

BillywilliamV · 09/09/2020 10:13

Which means you and DP can see two other people!
So I wouldnt count the baby.

MereDintofPandiculation · 09/09/2020 12:06

Which means you and DP can see two other people! So I wouldnt count the baby. Which is foolish advice, because the limit is law not guidance, so even if you don't count the baby, if the police do, you can still be fined.

Bol87 · 09/09/2020 12:57

I’ve no idea why they are counting immobile babies who probably shed such a small amount of any virus that it wouldn’t much harm an adult.. but they are. So my family of 5 can’t even see my parents 🙄 but I probably will to be honest. 6 v 7..

Because they might catch it?
ThePlantsitter · 09/09/2020 13:05

Nobody fucking knows and it's not like there are any police left to enforce it op. Maybe meet in the pub (or happen across each other there) then it won't matter.

FixTheBone · 09/09/2020 13:16

It all nonsense, I have 7 children, so apparently the rules don't apply.

Not sure whether that means I can't seen anybody beyond the 8 people already in the household, or, because we're already over 6 people, there is no limit.....

Orchidflower1 · 09/09/2020 13:18

@FixTheBone think it means you’re not seeing anyone 🙈

cherrybakewellll · 09/09/2020 13:20

@FixTheBone apparently anyone with 6 or more in their household/bubble can't meet any other people or bubbles as a whole. Each member of your household can meet up to 5 other individuals but you can't all do it together.

What a shit show.

girlsyearapart · 09/09/2020 13:22

I’ve been having this debate with DH...
so we have 4dc two over 11 two under if that matters.
He says as we are 6 when we are all at home no one else can come in. I interpreted more as we count as one household and can have 5 other people in .
I’m wrong aren’t I ?

veeboo · 09/09/2020 13:23

@fix the bone. What cherry bakewell says. You are all allowed to go put to say a park or pub but not to meet others unless you're seperate

girlsyearapart · 09/09/2020 13:24

@cherrybakewellll x posted with you.
So in the day when the kids are out I could have my parents over but not when everyone’s in?
The dc can have one friend over if one of them is out. ?

cherrybakewellll · 09/09/2020 13:24

@girlsyearapart unfortunately your DH is correct.

Basically it doesn't matter how many households are involved in meetings of 6 people it just can't be more than 6.

I have 3 kids, 2 primary age and 1 who is under 1. No more grandparent visits for us. No more friends round to play.

girlsyearapart · 09/09/2020 13:26

It is always unfortunate to admit he’s correct Grin

cherrybakewellll · 09/09/2020 13:26

Yep @girlsyearapart which is why it's utter bollocks.

There's zero social distancing for the kids at our school, the teachers are in physical contact with all 30 of them in the class but once they're outside the school gate ...:

I'm ranting now cos I'm Angry

november90 · 09/09/2020 13:31

It's so frustrating! I'm so lucky to be living with my parents through all of this (husband left me at 24 weeks pregnant in January!!!), but because I have 2 children it means they can only have one visitor unless we sit outside and I feel so guilty :(

girlsyearapart · 09/09/2020 13:33

Luckily the big two have birthdays this weekend so just getting their parties in before the rule change.

IndiaMay · 09/09/2020 13:34

@november90 I'm afraid it applies outside too.

It doesn't matter how old the children are. They are people/individuals.

Yep.
