Oxford vaccine trial paused....

Has anyone else seen this?? I really hope the person affected is ok but also that they can quickly determine their illness is not related to the vaccine.

Apparently this is not uncommon in clinical trials and article mentions it being done out of an abundance of caution etc...

It’s quite common in vaccine trails by all accounts. It’s most likely not related to the vaccine but obviously they have to investigate .. hopefully in some ways this might actually reassure people they are being thorough in safety checks & not just rushing it out without bothering!

It seems like it is a minor issue of one patient having a random health issue which is unrelated, they're pausing the trial to be very safe and it will likely get started again very quickly. Many thousands have had the vaccine and been ok so I don't think this is a reason to panic. I'm grateful they're being cautious at this stage.
