Anyone still waiting for holiday refund from On the Beach when they cancelled?

I got an email on 7/7/2020 to say RA had cancelled my flight and holiday therefore cancelled.

Probably a stroke of luck because country then went into quarantine.

However I would have been and also returned by now (weekend just gone)

Account showing up as "no refund due"

That may just be because they haven't yet received money from RA?

Also they have suspended their call centre so only contact can be through booking app.

Some blurb in their page as well about paying £1 pp deposit for hotel and £2.50 ATOL protection.

I'll pay protection (thank god it exists!) but I'm not paying deposit for a hotel I couldn't use because they cancelled!

Anyway - I've just sent message through their site saying it's their argument with RA if they haven't refunded flights within the legal timescale for aviation refunds. And if they've not contacted and refunded my in 7 days I'll do a chargeback through my bank.

Anyone had any luck getting a refund from them yet, getting a response to messaging or getting refund through chargeback?

I paid for a holiday for my son going on 10th May. By early July, with no refund and no contact other than the generic emails saying they will refund hotel costs, but flights will only be when easy jet refund... I did a charge back which was successful. They the contested it, and my bank asked for more info and said they would take the money back if I didn't respond (they asked things like why I wasn't prepared to wait etc).
That was on 14th July. Haven't heard anything since and the money is still in my account. So 🤷‍♀️.

Thanks this.

I'm guessing if that was May until July and still nothing I could be waiting for a while yet if I don't proceed with chargeback!

I've been patient and understanding IMO!

But without the refund it has meant I couldn't book something in the UK instead and have not had a holiday.

It's hard to know whether to just wait (for what 2/3/8 months?) or push hard.

But because I don't have an end date etc that's what's annoying me. I don't want to wait another 8 months and then not even get a staycation next year either because everything is likely to boom up fast staycation wise!

What's actually annoying me is that Ryanair cancelled the flight! 8 weeks before I was due to fly.

So surely they should have refunded immediately because they made the decision?!
