Has anyone been for a test and not had results

Hi all,

So fed up just wanted your advice really. Basically my husband had a headache friday and sore throat and slight cough. Not the main symptoms but there is a new test centre near me where you don't have to have symptoms to be tested. Long story ahort, 7 phone calls later and 2 test results.... No result has come back.

I don't know if he is just unlucky but everyone we spoke to got a text in 24 hours or day after or even a few on same day. Its been 4 days since first test and 3 since the second and no results. We rang the NHS line who have escalated the case and basically said he doesn't fit the symptoms so can go to work. We didn't want to put risk on others so have been in for 5 days now even though he feels more or less fine. Has anyone been for a test and not got the result?

Yep, happened to me a few weeks ago. Mine was collected by courier. I never got an explanation or the result, but as I felt better I just left it.

My ds had a test a couple of months ago & never got the results. He felt ok though & mine came through negative. As he was worried about having caught it off me, we assumed he must also be negative.

Yes, my work colleague didn’t get a result - lost in transit? She went somewhere else for another test (neg)

Yes! DS has been waiting since Saturday and we can’t get another test until it’s been 5 days (tomorrow) so unlikely we’ll be able to go away at the weekend as planned. Am majorly annoyed as his cough has totally gone since Sunday. We’ve been chasing daily and all they can do is send a chase email.
Worries me that it’s slow now what’s going to happen in September once schools are back? Could circulate like mad in a school whilst waiting for results.

We had the same experience they can chase but we was told sometimes if anything was wrong with the test or if it went missing we would never be told.
