No family to have a “reunion”

I’m not jealous or envious of those who have finally been able to see grandparent and family now lockdown has eased. I’m just sad I haven’t got any. I have my own family of 4 who are all amazing and I’m so very fortunate. But I’m sad when I see others meeting the grandparents/aunties/uncles etc. I just wondered how many other people were feeling the same.

Hi I’m the exact same no one to have a Covid reunion with. My DC only really have my Dad who they last saw at Christmas for a few hours, he hasn’t really got time for them which is sad. No other grandparents or close family really. There’s just DH and I. It can be tough and also lonely at times.

I’m married and we have a daughter, but my parents and sibling all died some time ago. I felt like people couldn’t wait to get a hug from their mums as soon as it was ‘safe’ to do so, and I felt a bit deflated because I wasn’t going to be able to do the same. Stung a bit.

I have no family except DH. Totally get you.

I have no parents or grandparents either and I'm an only child. To make it worse I lost my dad to Covid.

Luckily my DHs family are amazing though

Totally with you there ! My only close family is my brother in the next street to me, I lost my dad at 14, my older sister died four years ago and my mum is very poorly with dementia. When I see the posts about family reunions I can't help feeling a pang of envy.

I'm the same op. Parents are dead and that's it. Would love extended family.
