My youngest DC has been at nursery since end of June, 2 days a week- Tuesday and Friday.

Early last week he had a very mild cough. So we kept him off Tuesday, tested and results clear. But not in time to send him back on the Friday.

He went back in this Tuesday, and has now come down with a cold. Snotty, slightly raised temp.

Will obviously keep him off again but this doesn't bode well for him starting school in Sept! He's going to be home more often than school at this rate!

I'm sorry he's been unwell, hopefully he's feeling better soon.

Autumn term in schools is always horrible for bugs and illnesses, I imagine this year will be even worse. As well as being far more disruptive for parents, due to time off for testing and the potential for isolating if their child has been in close contact with a confirmed Covid case.

Thanks Ikabog.

He's the kind of child that avoids all tummy bugs, but if there's a hint of a cough or sniffle, he'll catch it.

I just hope they mass produce the saliva tests soon, otherwise poor kid is going to be nose/throat swabbed every week at this rate.
