Covid rules in hospital- do they apply for a private hospital room?

regarding labour.
Atm partners only allowed in whilst partner is in labour, have to go home overnight.
We were planning on getting a private hospital room this time round anyway as there are some complications with baby. As a result of this DP wants to be able to stay overnight if needed.
Would he be able to if we had our own private room as opposed to a ward?
