Back to School today, how to keep family safe?

We're in Scotland and my two Primary aged children have started back to school today. They don't need to socially distance, and judging by the masses of parents clumped around the school gates, alot of the adults are forgetting to socially distance.
When they come home from school what should I do to keep us safe, without causing any unnecessary anxiety in my children?
I was thinking that I should get them to use hand gel before we walk home, leave their shoes and school bags in the porch until I can wipe them down, and get their school clothes straight into the washing machine. Is there anything else I should be doing?

I was going into school regularly through lockdown - my child went back in June.

We got home and washed our hands, put our clothes in the washing machine. Shoes by the door where they would always be (also her cardigan, since wasn't worn much in the last term, but went with her every day). Basically just clean clothes every day. I bought 5 jersey dresses for me for that purpose, have got the same for this term coming too.

That's all most medics were doing (anecdotal).

They are the precautions I plan to take plus a good multi vitamin supplement. Hope it goes ok. I’m dreading it.

Nothing much else you can do given most transmission appears to,be airbourne.

I wouldn’t do any more then you suggested already... I’m not sure there’s anything left to cover!

Make sure the vit D is at least 10 micrometers as some are lower.

We'll be washing hands when we get home and that's all.
