Jobs abroad? Anyone have any Dubai experience

Hello everyone,
I wondered If anyone could help. I am a teacher and looking at Dubai and in particular gems education. Can anyone offer any advice?
Also my friend wants to move there into retail refurbishments and construction. She had a good job here earning over 100k. Lots of experience but no degree & I feel in Dubai that’s needed?
Thank you

I wasn’t sure how to bump it, I’m not very good with this page. I have been approached about work but sceptical of doing it alone

Father works and lives in Dubai - some sort of management around construction industry I think . If they’re building a tower block or an office building, hotel, anything really - they consult him on facilities or something on that lines . He’s freelance .

He’s taken a massive pay cut - he’s on 30% salary - and says the rules are exceptionally strict - masks everywhere, unless in your own home . In the heat that would be hell I imagine . They check temperature in most places and fines for not following their laws are strict (he says) . I don’t think it’s like the UK at all .

If he wasn’t freelance he thinks he’d have been sacked - I think he said a lot of his friends and colleagues have had to come back to UK .

His healthcare is good - but expensive .

Says as well it’s always very hot and dry - I think he took a while to acclimatise to it .

I’m not sure about family stuff as he’s alone out there, but it’s certainly not somewhere I’d want to be just now - or at any time really .

It’s also worth pointing out that the normality for jobs there seemed to be flying out a lot to eg Saudi, Egypt - which is obviously not always feasible for women and not possible at all right now . So he’s largely stuck at home .
