Shop Staff not wearing masks

Just got back from an M&S food where several staff were way too close and not wearing masks. Shouting to each other in my direction and generally not keeping distance.
It felt like because I am not a risk to them (in a mask) they are not bothered if they are a risk to customers. I haven’t experienced this in other shops but just wondered what people’s thoughts are on staff wearing masks? I understand it would be warm etc but surely if they are not going to wear masks they should be stringently following distancing guidelines.
Has totally put me off shopping in that particular branch.

Staff are not required to wear masks. (I would but I don’t work in a shop!) They are uncomfortable to wear all day.

Yes I know that. I’m asking people’s views on it

Personally I haven't got a problem with staff not wearing them as long as customers are.

SlipperSwan · 03/08/2020 18:06

They might have medical reasons for not wearing a mask. You don't know. Don't judge. This pandemic is bad enough without all the policing.

No excuse for not distancing though!

Topseyt · 03/08/2020 18:06

None of that would bother me at all.

I work in a supermarket. My colleagues and I are wearing masks or visors. Everyone is in my store.

Orchidflower1 · 03/08/2020 18:13

No excuse for being close and shouting close to you.

cologne4711 · 03/08/2020 20:18

They shouldn't be shouting but there's no need for them to wear masks if customers are. This has been done to death on other threads, OP. Can I commend the search function to you?

Doesn't bother me at all. I wear a mask in shops because that's the rule not because I feel it particularly makes me any safer. The chances of me catching it from a brief encounter with someone working in a supermarket is negligible.

I have noticed that since mandatory masks were introduced, no-one is bothering with social distancing. People think they're bullet-proof.
