Are you renewing your annual travel insurance?

Just had our annual renewal form sent through by LV. We have a fairly expensive policy (£200 ish) as in pre COVID times we were in North America a lot.

Given we’re not going to be going overseas any time soon, am I missing anything obvious if I don’t bother renewing it? Surely anything booked now can’t be covered by COVID so there’s no special benefits to be lost?

Ooh I’ve wondered this! Check with your insurer exactly where they stand with covid cover. I’m wondering whether to renew as it’s such a palaver getting quotes when declaring health conditions, and insurers all have different criteria for declaring them. But then the chances of going anywhere don’t look too good.

We haven't, we did renew ours in May and we had a USA trip (and cruise!) booked for October, flights got cancelled in June so I cancelled the insurance and got a full refund. They also changed the t&cs and although they would still pay out for covid medical cover they wouldnt cover covid cancellations. We will wait until next year
..or whenever we can go to USA again before we take out a new policy.

Mine is up for renewal in November. I probably will keep it as I'm hoping to go abroad in February.

We didn't renew in May. They did offer a discount for renewal but there didn't seem to be any advantage regarding covid - the new policy wouldn't cover it. So we didn't bother. No trips planned so can't see the point.

We renewed ours but only because we had a trip booked pre Covid. We have moved it to next year, and it is covered (including for Covid). If we booked a new trip it wouldn't be. (Insure & Go)
