Interesting that Drs and teachers are first in line. Uneasy that a rushed through vaccine may be mandatory there but at least they seem to understand the value of a healthy teaching force.

Seems sensible to me

Can't think of anyone more important 🤷‍♀️

Surely care workers and nurses including HCAs should be prioritised. They have prolonged, very close and intimate contact.

Redolent · 02/08/2020 08:33

Looks like they stole the Oxford one.

When we get a vaccine, the UK government will do exactly the same.

Healthcare staff and the over 75s first
then other "key workers" like teachers, transportation staff
then anyone who usually gets a flu jab
then any other adults
finally children.

Elsa8 · 02/08/2020 08:36

I always assumed it would be healthcare workers, teachers and other key workers and the most vulnerable first here too.

ScrapThatThen · 02/08/2020 08:38

In May several Russian doctors were reported in UK press to have mysteriously fallen out of windows Sad. Putin's Russia. Doctors are suppressed from speaking out.

I assume the same. I thought it interesting how the quote from Russian media stated "drs and teachers first" rather than say health care and key workers. Maybe it was lost in translation.

Would you trust this vaccine out of interest? I’m happy to have any vaccine that starts getting rolled out in this country but this Russian one seems to have appeared out of nowhere and be ready ridiculously fast....

LaurieFairyCake · 02/08/2020 12:41

I was also assuming it meant all health care workers

tobee · 02/08/2020 12:59

I was talking to Dh the other night. We've both said we'd roll our sleeve up for a vaccine as soon as. But then I suggested would we take the Russian one .....?

Toilenstripes · 02/08/2020 13:05

Sars vaccines have been being researched for so many years so it’s no wonder they were able to finish up very quickly. COVID 19 is a SARS virus.

mrshoho · 02/08/2020 14:33

No I wouldn't take this vaccine. I'm happy to wait for the UK version.

Assuming they mean all healthcare workers, that sounds reasonable.
