Poor girl Sad Just one of the no doubt many other impacts of lockdown. It was necessary to flatten the curve, I know.

I do hope that schools opening in September remain 'a national priority' as stated by Boris Johnson today.

I do hope social workers start doing their jobs properly.

@ohthegoats I agree that in this case, social workers should have probably done more. The child was clearly known to them. Just that schools also help with this sort of thing - noticing a child isn't there and following up as necessary.

It's the holidays at the moment but only just so a case like this may well have been picked up.

I'm not a troll. I can be a twat.

You OP can also be a twat. This is just a dogwhistle to the UsForThem lot. Schools at fault for everything again.

I've reported your post.

Where exactly did OP say schools are at fault?

OP didn't call you anything not sure why you have reported

@ohthegoats is your recent post directed at me? If so, I am very confused.

I am certainly not part of the 'Us for them' campaign and I certainly don't believe schools are to blame for everything. Nor do I believe the social workers are to blame for everything Hmm

I work in a school. I know that children being in schools can be helpful when things like this occur because we notice when children are missing and it's followed up very quickly (at least at our school). That is why I said I hope the schools plan goes ahead, so that schools like ours can work with other agencies to help children like the girl in the article.

There's no saying whether she was in school anyway.
