Woman kicked out of hairdressers for refusing to wear a mask properly

So she goes to the hairdressers, has a mask on at first, while having her hair washed tells the hairdressers she’s had Covid 3x already. Hmm. Then declares she can’t wear the mask properly and that she needs to wear it pulled down.

Gets told to leave and has posted the usual sad face photos while sat in her car with wet hair. The hairdresser did offer to blow dry her hair which I think is above and beyond.

Women reckons she was discriminated against for having had Covid while seemingly oblivious to the fact it was the lack of proper mask wearing which was more the issue. Although if she’s so prone to Covid I can imagine they would be more reluctant and fair enough.

Good, well done to the hairdresser for sticking up for themselves and their other customers.

KitchenConfidential · 20/07/2020 21:32

Good for the hairdressers.

Blimey she’s had it 3 times? She’s a medical marvel. And “I likely have asthma”. Hahahahahaha

Mustbetimeforachange · 20/07/2020 21:35

3 times. Right Hmm

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 20/07/2020 21:49

Covid 3 times? Impressive, she should volunteer for medical testing.

or she wasn’t able to be furloughed and has a very gullible employer

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 20/07/2020 22:19

I think there are MNers who have said they have had Covid in waves. They start to recover then relapse so maybe that is what she meant.

I would have told her that she couldn't pull her mask down and, if she did, I would tell her to leave too only without offering to blow dry her hair. IF she does have asthma then she should have told the hairdresser in advance.

What’s more annoying about that article is trying to read it between all the ads/pictures and other rubbish that is stuck throughout!

LillianBland · 20/07/2020 22:29

I don’t see where she’s actually been tested and confirmed with having covid. Sounds more like she’s had the sniffles three times and as for ‘suspected’ asthma. Ffs! Good for the salon.

Derbygerbil · 20/07/2020 22:40

Can believe someone would do that.... Can’t quite believe someone actually went to the papers with such a ridiculous “sad face” story.

PatchworkElmer · 20/07/2020 22:45

“Likely have asthma” 😂😂

I actually have asthma, and I’m fine with a mask (though I know very severe people have issues). I highly doubt that her ‘asthma’ is more serious than mine, for which I am diagnosed and medicated.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/07/2020 22:56

The sad face then happy face shots are particularly great.

Wonder if anyone else’s suffers with ‘likely asthma’?

VenusTiger · 20/07/2020 23:07

I haven't read the article, but it sounds like she planned this to get in the papers - 3 times, er no unless she's working for PHE !!!

Motorina · 20/07/2020 23:08

Also diagnosed with asthma, and on two inhalers. Have worn a mask at work for forever and, until now, it never would have occurred to me or anyone else that it created a problem.

If her asthma were severe enough for the mask to be an issue for the duration of a haircut it wouldn't be "likely". She and her doctor would know about it.

Good for the hairdressers.

DontDoItGeorge · 20/07/2020 23:11

Stupid Cow 🥱

JacobReesMogadishu · 20/07/2020 23:38

And if her asthma was that bad wouldn’t she be shielded until 1st August? My friend is still shielded, isn’t allowed inside or back to work yet.

OP posts:
BilboBercow · 21/07/2020 06:32

People with asthma aren't in the shielded category

Hedgehog44 · 21/07/2020 06:51

Just the expression on her face in the first picture makes me hate her!

BillywilliamV · 21/07/2020 06:54

She's a forensic psychologist, you'd think that would need some intelligence?

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2020 07:02

Good for the salon!. “Typhoid Mary upset world won’t bend to her will”.

If she’s had covid 3 times doesn’t that suggest her immune systems not the best & she ought to wear a mask?.

SD1978 · 21/07/2020 07:08

Impressive .is she currently under investigation for having this three seperate times - and being the only documented person in Britain who has? I'd imagine she must be helping the medical community immensely.....also should probably have a look at her personal distancing if she's caught something three times during lockdown.......otherwise should probably keep her daily mail sad face to herself as I have absolutely zero sympathy.

Derbygerbil · 21/07/2020 07:21

If she caught it three times (even if a recurrence, not a new infection), who’s to say she’s not about to have a fourth! Given her highly unusual susceptibility, surely she is far more of a risk than the average person, and it should be even more important that she does wear a mask!

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2020 07:22

I would assume this is someone with a distrust of big pharma.

Also, whitening products for teeth 🤨.

MereDintofPandiculation · 21/07/2020 09:11

Well, if she's had it three times, she's clearly very likely to get it again, and therefore even more vital that she should be wearing a mask.

PatchworkElmer · 21/07/2020 10:34

Some are. This is from the Asthma UK website- obviously these are very severe cases, not ‘likely’ ones:

“ In England, the NHS says you would be in the shielding group for asthma if ALL THREE of these things apply to you:

You have asthma, AND
You are taking certain extra controller medicines as well as a preventer inhaler (for example, you are taking Montelukast, salmeterol or formoterol, or you are on a combination inhaler like Seretide, Fostair, Symbicort, Flutiform, Fobumix, DuoResp Spiromax, Combisal, Sereflo, Sirdupla, Aloflute, AirFluSal, Relvar Ellipta, Fusacomb or Stalpex), AND
You are taking continuous or frequent oral steroids.”

oldbagface · 21/07/2020 14:16

This is the sort of behaviour that will cause it to spike again. Someone on Facebook posted yesterday that he'd just seen a woman being fined for not wearing a mask on a bus GOOD!
