Minibus travel to France

Hi, I presumed my friend's hen do weekend in August to France had been cancelled as the flights were. But instead, her hubby has offered to drive us there in his minibus. 6 girls from 6 different households in an 8-seater for a drive that will take several hours. I've already said I'm not sure this is a good idea due to the lack of social distancing and sure we're breaking rules / might get stopped at border but she thinks I'm being paranoid. Is there any official guidance anywhere about this as I can't find anything? Maybe I am being overly cautious?!

I don't think it's against the law (assuming you are in England - I haven't kept up with the rules for other parts of the UK), but it is very clearly against guidance, which is that no more than two households should meet indoors at any one time and even then they should socially distance if not in the same bubble. Personally, I would politely decline. The virus is still out there and cases are no longer declining in the UK. With so many people behaving as if the virus has gone away and taking no personal responsibility for their actions, infection rates will soon be rising.
