Anyone travelled to Croatia recently?

My in-laws have a house in Croatia and are due to fly there next weekend. They're now panicking that they need a Covid test showing they're Covid-free, taken within the 48 hours before they fly. They're British citizens, travelling on UK passports.

From what I can gather, any Covid tests are for non-EU travellers (and we still count as EU this year, during the transition period with Brexit). The rules seem to be introduced to deal with any American tourists seeking entry.

Has anyone flown to Croatia in the last week from the UK and can you confirm no Covid testing is required to allow entry? Thank you!

No tests needed for people arriving from UK, but there is a form to complete and they must have proof they own the house/accommodation. tripsguard.com/country/croatia/

Thanks, @MrsPerrywinkle - are you over there now or been there recently? In-laws are convinced that since we've left the EU (in spite of the transitional period), that they therefore have to get Covid tests before arrival! They're not listening to anything we say!

Why don't they just get a test? i was advised to get one a few weeks ago, and it was so easy to get an appointment. i don't think they'd be taking up resources at the moment if they went to a testing centre. you get the results back within 12 hours.

They're in their seventies, they're worrying about getting a test and having the results within the alleged 48 hour window, they're worrying about having to lie and say they have symptoms to get an NHS test (when they clearly have no such symptoms). Whether a Croatian border control agent would even accept the UK government's text message confirmation of being clear from Covid is anyone's guess.

They can go and get a test if necessary, but it seemed blatantly clear that Croatia doesn't require it - if I could find someone who can confirm this, they might stop worrying (though it's a long-shot!)

We are due to fly to Croatia in 8 days time. Tell them to look on the FCO website as it gives the latest information on each country. I've been checking it everyday but am now worried because Croatia has had a spike in cases so we aren't sure what's going to happen.
