I'll be driving , staying with them.

DMum is housebound . DDad is her Primary carer .

I cannot fathom the latest information it has "use common sense" , "travel as little as possible"

I really need to see them , my Mum has Health issues .

No biscuits or rolly eyes please , I am really worried .

I would go. You are checking on and looking after people with health issues. Make your own assessment on how to keep them and you safe while you are there. I’ve had to travel from Scotland to Wales on a monthly basis to pick up medication.

And staying in the house ? It would be a week or so ( then I'd have o travel home and make sure I was symptom free to go back to work myself )

I think so.

KaronAVyrus · 12/07/2020 20:10

Just go and see them.

We are going to stay with my family in Scotland for a week in August. Overnight stays are allowed between 2 households.

AlandAnna · 12/07/2020 20:24

Yes, just got back from staying with my mum. She was so happy to see us all. Enjoy

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 12/07/2020 20:26

Yes I'd go, my DH Is going to visit family in England from Scotland in a few weeks, Obviously carefully though!

SengaStrawberry · 12/07/2020 20:42

Go, wear a mask indoors if you can, keep 2m distance if possible - but go

RubyViolet · 12/07/2020 20:46

Try to be really super safe by wearing masks and having as minimal contact with others as is possible before you go and visit. It’s hard if you are working with others but if you explain to others they will understand if you ask people to respect your 2m space for a week or so.

Two separate households are allowed to stay overnight in a third household overnight - you are absolutely fine.

kitkat463 · 12/07/2020 21:22

Yes

rookiemere · 12/07/2020 21:31

Yes you're fine to travel over the border - we drove down to England on Friday. You're also fine to stay overnight as from 10th July. It's deliberately been left very vague imho to put people off coming to Scotland, but you're not breaking any guidelines or rules now by doing it, although you are meant to try to stay physically apart when you are there.

womanaf · 12/07/2020 21:36

Yes, you’re meant to socially distance whilst you’re there, but you’re okay to visit, stay over etc. We’ve quarantined ourselves at home with view to going up next week for the same reasons.

We've family flying into Ireland from Scotland tomorrow for a week. There'll be 5 of them. So I'd guess it would be OK to travel England to Scotland to visit and stay if they're allowing people holidays overseas.

sonicbook · 12/07/2020 21:37

I would go. I hope you enjoy seeing your parents ❤️

Belindabelle · 12/07/2020 21:39

It’s allowed. Just remember you will need a face covering to go into shops in Scotland.
