No facial waxes for women but beard trims and threading for men!!!

Someone on here was asking yesterday how come they cant get a facial wax but men can get a beard trim. Excellent point. And now an MP is asking the same question.

No idea what the proper policy is but my husband went to have his done on Wednesday and they wouldn't touch his beard said they could be closed down if they did

It’s bizarre isn’t it. It’s almost as if the rules have been drawn up by men who have no idea about women’s beauty treatments and couldn’t be bothered to find out,

The lockdown and the easing of it has been sexist right the way through.

If that's true, if I wanted my face waxed I'd go to a barber and tell them I identified as a man.

I don't know of any barber that is actually offering beard services. If, which I am not sure is true, beard services haven't been specifically banned I suspect it is an oversight that the government hadn't noticed as virtually all, if not all, barbers have self selected to not offer such services.

Beard trims are restricted though. There are a lot of restrictions on what can be done and how, most limited to a quick clipper cut as with hair and even then it has to be done from side and cannot be around mouth/nose area...OH tried to get usual the other day and wasnt allowed.

Of course, not all places will follow the guidance as strictly as others and so I'm sure some are doing. Doesnt make it sexist though. I've seen some places offering women facial services.
