If you've tested positive in the last month or two, where did you get it from?

Following on from another thread.

Just curious, not looking to scare people.

I don't know anyone whose had it, not one. Life here is pretty much back to normal. I'm in the South West.

Tested positive 2 weeks ago. Dh been to work i have done weekly shopping once a week. Thats the only contact with the outside world so has to be either from dh work or shopping.

Thank you for your reply. I hope you feel better soon. I think I have to deal with the fact I will get it at some point.

Not me personally but my friend tested positive and she had only been working in a supermarket. No other trips to anywhere else (she said she was likely to get it so socially distanced herself - her husband is WFH)

Cornwall

Friend had only been out once a week to her local Lidl and so believes she caught it there. Having been in that store there is very little social distancing, no hand sanitiser, narrow aisles so I can imagine that it is possible that it was there.

Keepdistance · 10/07/2020 16:29

Also SW (not currently infected) im expecting an increase in cases due to tourism.
On Leicester thread on poster said their neighbours went off with a caravan despite being on lockdown...
I saw that minehead area went red but back down. So expecting that really.

Tbh i think the first 4w back in sept will be risky but fingers crossed

Cornishandnotaprick · 10/07/2020 16:36

I absolutely agree @Keepdistance

Devon looks like it’s seeing a rise at the moment too. Was on local news earlier

torydeathdrug · 10/07/2020 16:58

@Cornishandnotaprick which parts of Devon are seeing an increase (in cases?). Not a snarky question! I've looked at the local authority numbers & can't see any increases, I was wondering if I'd missed one.

You can find the case numbers per LA here coronavirus-staging.data.gov.uk/cases?areaType=ltla&areaName=Exeter

Cornishandnotaprick · 10/07/2020 17:40

@torydeathdrug I don’t think they named a region. Just the whole of Devon. So sorry!! I’ll listen to the news again and see if they mention it Smile

torydeathdrug · 10/07/2020 18:24

Thank you!

I drove over the M5 earlier, near Taunton and it was at a standstill heading in the Devon direction.

It's just not fair. I think he should have kept to people staying at home for a while.

coronavirus-staging.data.gov.uk/cases?areaType=region&areaName=South%20West

coronavirus-staging.data.gov.uk/cases?areaType=utla&areaName=Devon

The South West has very few cases & a number of areas have many days with no cases at all - North Devon nothing since 18th June!

SabrinaTheTeenageBitch · 10/07/2020 22:09

Only person I know who has had it (confirmed) is my mother who works in a hospital so unsurprising. Lost sense of smell and taste for a week and that was all.

We are in Tyne and wear

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/07/2020 22:13

We were all really sick at the start of May. Husband and daughter hadn’t been anywhere. I’d only been to the supermarket for ours and parents shopping, only the weeks we couldn’t get deliveries.
Paramedic who came who is also a friend said to avoid supermarkets at all costs, as even with gel and sprays people touch stuff all the time. We are in Tyne and Wear too.
I donated convalescent plasma and have antibodies.
