Masks in hospital?

Ds has a hearing test in hospital today, partially deaf in both ears and have been waiting for this appointment for ages, there was the option to delay it but seeing as his speech is really delayed we wanted to get this done so can move onto the next stage!
He is 3 in august, does he need to be wearing a mask as well as me? I do have one for him but I know the rules are different for young children... I can't imagine there's any way he'll keep it on!

I know in Scotland they don't need to wear them if they are under 5

On public transport it’s kids under 11 don’t have to wear masks so I can’t see it would be vastly different for hospitals. I wouldn’t put one on my 3 year old

Check your local NHS Facebook page or call the clinic, I'd suggest.

If he wants to wear it because it's fun for him great. If he doesn't like it don't worry, he's too young to be obliged.

No he doesn't. If they are young they are advised not to wear them and anyone young or with needs like sen don't need to.
Have looked into this in depth having a 8 year old autistic son

Thank you everyone. I just had a more in-depth google than I did before asking (sorry, premature post Blush) and found under 3 in England they don't. I'll take it just incase he wants to wear it! He's a giant 3 year old so am worried people will be annoyed if he's not thinking he's older than he is!
