I have ventured into 3 cafes. One asked for a mobile number then said it didn't matter, one said they wouldn't serve me unless I gave my number, one carried on as if nothing had ever happened.

Can anybody explain the rules please?

No, I am not the one who is not making things work.

Other countries systems are massively better, because they have never cut their public health systems so much.

The UK system is poor. It may improve, but they put a person with no public health experience in charge and they went to a private firm with no experience.

It is not OPs fault.

It is the government's responsibility.

The fact the pub/cafe guidance is only guidance is another gap - read the comments from the pub industry about how little they feel the government has helped them.

My mums happily doing contact tracing shifts at 25 pounds an hour, with a maximum of 0 calls. Wow.

Oh wow. Lots of similar stories. If it was NHS we could find out, as a private company employed them presumably they just take the morning ney and run?

I was refused service unless I gave all my details including home address and ticked a box consenting to marketing details.

I went elsewhere.
