Seriously confused by rules in Wales. Can we go to the beach with another family?

I am trying to understand the rules in Wales but reading the government websites is just confusing me. I would like to go with my family and one other family to the beach in Wales this coming weekend (6 days time). Will that be allowed?

gov.wales/guidance-leaving-your-home-and-seeing-other-people-coronavirus

Looks like its OK from tomorrow

dementedpixie · 05/07/2020 15:06

You can meet there and stay socially distanced from them

Ah so we don't need to form an extended household, we can just go as friends to the beach and stay 1m apart? Is there a limit to how many people can do that?

Is it 1m in Wales?

notevenat20 · 05/07/2020 15:10

I really don't know. I also don't understand what the limit is on "gatherings" in Wales.

I think its 2m in Wales. Doesnt seem to be a limit on number of people, just need to limit number of households

HogglePoggle · 05/07/2020 15:12

Do you live in Wales? From tomorrow we can travel more than 5 miles.

You can meet another household at the beach but stay 2m apart.

"We are advising people to avoid places where many people tend to come together. Many popular car parks will either stay closed or have strict limitations on their use. Car parks near beaches and tourist sites, and within national parks, in particular may be closed. " This makes it look like you are not supposed to go to the beach...confused face.

HogglePoggle No we don't like in Wales.

Grrr..live in Wales

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 05/07/2020 15:16

That's because the restrictions are being lifted tomorrow for travelling further afield although the car parks may still be closed at that point

dementedpixie · 05/07/2020 15:17

I thought you were asking because you lived in Wales. Does the other family live in Wales?

notevenat20 · 05/07/2020 15:18

Neither family lives in Wales. Does that change things?

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 05/07/2020 15:18

and you need to stay 2m apart in wales too. How far are you from Wales?

notevenat20 · 05/07/2020 15:20

About 50m :)

Can you not meet up in England then? If restrictions are only being eased tomorrow then car parks may not be open by the time you go or they may be busy with the Welsh residents just getting to use them again

dementedpixie · 05/07/2020 15:21

sorry x post

dementedpixie · 05/07/2020 15:21

metres or miles?

notevenat20 · 05/07/2020 15:23

So from tomorrow you should be ok, you can travel over 5 miles so you’re ok to get to the beach. You can meet up with one other household. You must stay outside and stay 2m apart.
Enjoy!

notevenat20 · 05/07/2020 15:28

Thanks!

From tomorrow the 5 mile rule is being extended to as far as you want, and you can meet up with as many people as you want outdoors, socially distanced (2m apart)
The hundreds of people out in London last night seem to have forgotten about that bit!

Sorry I just repeated what hoggle said lol
