Lost my sense of taste

I am a key worker, have been distancing and wearing a mask whenever I go out which isn’t often except for work. Some of my family are extremely vulnerable so I have been staying in a separate building away from them. They drive me into work, but I wear a mask. A couple of days a go they told me to come into the house for dinner which I did and now regret. I have booked a covid test, informed my work. I’m just hoping it’s negative, I feel so anxious rn.

This happened to me also, I'm a key worker and I did test positive... had no idea it would be covid as the loss of taste/smell hadn't been mentioned at this point. Thought I was just 'run down' and could sleep it off but ended up in hospital on oxygen. Hope everything goes well for you op x

Try not to worry; even if you do have it and even if you have passed it on, they may not have symptoms or may only be slightly ill, it's not an instant death sentence even for those shielding.

And lots of shielded are now being told their risk is not nearly as high as first thought.

Also, they invited you in, they exercised their right to choose.

Let us know how you get on, best wishes.
