Are you meeting up at peoples houses?

Friend has asked me round for SD drinks.

Just us two. Not even DHs

Am I allowed round but to stay in the garden? Am I allowed to use her loo? In her house at all? Neither of us are bubbled with anyone else and have stuck to lockdown so far.

Genuinely flummoxed by the ever changing advice!

Sorry if this is done to death, I've tried searching but just comes up with old threads not at all linked to what I'm actually searching for.

Yes, just go and use your common sense

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/07/2020 19:16

Yes, go and sit in her garden. It's allowed. If you need to go to the toilet that's allowed as well, but try to be in the house for as short a time as possible.

MissClarke86 · 02/07/2020 19:16

If you’re in England you’re allowed inside her house, socially distanced.

This explains it.

From 4 July people from 2 households can meet inside (and stay overnight)
Up to 6 different household members can meet outdoors, observing social distancing (ideally 2m, but perhaps 1+ m?)

If using loo, surfaces should be wiped down afterwards.

I'm going to see my DBro on Saturday night for a SD gin and tonic in his garden.

Qwicky · 02/07/2020 19:32

Great thanks! It's after Saturday so we're good.

Yep

DiddlySquatty · 02/07/2020 19:36

Yes been doing garden drinks for a few weeks with a group of friends (5 of us). Sitting round a table outside probably about 1m. We did all use loo inside.

It’s fine.

UntamedWisteria · 02/07/2020 20:22

Absolutely fine to sit outside at a distance from each other

Divoc2020 · 02/07/2020 20:45

Friend of mine did a BBQ and gave everyone a different coloured set of plastic tongs for picking up food, so they didn't all touch the same spoons etc in the salad bowls.
Thought it was quite inventive!

Not sure of the precise rules, but I've met for a SD drink outside with friends twice. We've come to a mutual agreement we won't use each others toilets. Funnily enough, I didn't know of anyone whose going into eachothers homes even as part of bubble. Numbers have been very low in our county over the last month. Other than some young teenagers, many are living well within guidelines and not living to the full extent.
