We've managed to rebook our originally cancelled holiday for next week, anyone else booked to go? I'm interested to know what you think it'll be like now if your regulars of going there?

We live just outside the Lake District and started going back in for walks about a month ago. It is very quiet where we go although we stay away from towns and obvious popular places. There have been problems with wild camping, litter and cars parked in stupid places to the point where a popular road with access to Coniston water has been shut.

@Brunobear Oh how lucky you are to have beautiful walks on your doorstep.

We love the lakes and have spent many holidays there with our dogs, we know this time will be different.
We love walks, pub lunches and visiting all the lovely restaurants and pubs for our evening meals, this time we're planning on taking as much with us as we can and just enjoying the walks, the odd drink in a pub garden and the lovely cottage we've booked... but I hope when we get there it will seem like normalish and we can enjoy all that we love about the area.

I'm not looking forward to the M6 though, I imagine it's going to be a long journey

Me! Booked an Airbnb for 3 weeks time and I can’t wait. We went literally the weekend before lockdown, and obviously couldn’t go into the towns or anywhere. I mainly love the walks but it’s nice to go to a pub for a drink after a long hike in the fells!

Yes. We booked a campsite with friends months ago obviously never thinking it will be probably our only holiday this year. Confirmed for 2weeks time. Cant wait

Hi from the Lakes :) also I’ll be holidaying in the lakes as cba trying to explore new places with C19 around. Lakes has been hard hit by C19 but we’ve missed people too... suppose as with everywhere else just keep in mind some have had a really bad time (and quite a few still trying to shift it). Try and avoid footpaths through homes and please don’t litter (how have we had more litter than usual?!). Otherwise will be lovely to have visitors back and I’ll be one too :) Yes I’m “holidaying” two villages away, v exciting :)

I haven't booked anything yet but thinking about it maybe a night/two end of August

Me me me! We’ve had a trailer tent, finally bought caravan... 3 trips booked. Ambleside, Penrith (ish) and best for last for us Keswick. Can not wait!
