Slightly worried this Saturday we are finally seeing family but our area is on the list rumoured to be shut down.
Family are travelling quite a way to get here but just wondering if they was here and they announced it was shutting down how much notice do they give if any?
Would they be allowed to return?

Which area OP, some of the reports in the press are misleading?

But I guess you just have to keep listening to the local council/ reliable announcements, as the week goes on.

Returning to their home would be essential travel I’m sure, are they staying in a hotel?

PatriciaHolm · 01/07/2020 17:35

Do you mean it was on that list of 36 areas that the press had earlier?

If so, ignore. The list was bollocks, and has been removed from everywhere now.

I read it in the news over the weekend.

PatriciaHolm- there's a list of regions with the Pillar 1 plus Pillar 2 number now.

Cherryghost · 01/07/2020 17:43

It's Tameside and using pillar 2 data I think

Yes I know, I was checking which list the OP was using!
PatriciaHolm · 01/07/2020 17:50

Tameside is 8th on the P1+P2 list at 33infections per 100,000, well below Leicester on 140 (and Bradford on 69, and Barnsley and Rochdale on 54)

I can't imagine its in imminent danger. But to answer the question - it's supposed to be essential travel only, but there aren't any roadblocks or anything. If by some remote chance they were stopped I would imagine "going home" counts as essential travel!

There are new figures coming out tomorrow apparently so I would have a look then.

This has just been published in the new PHE report into the Leicester cases. More up to date 7 day infection rates - shows a decline across 8 of the top 10, with the 2 increases from much smaller starting points.

We didn't get any notice, just found out through the media and announcement at the same time as everybody else.
