Kids back to school- can we see parents

My DS has gone back to school (socially distanced) in bubbles of 8 kids and cant mix with other kids, packed lunches, everything cleaned etc. My DD has gone back to nursery 2 days a week, theres literally only 3 other kids there and all clean/social distance.

My dad is under the shielded group. I really want to go see them, can i/should i take the kids? My dad tends to sit in the other room and we try and stay in opposite sides of the room to my mum etc.

Not sure whats allowed atm and also what is risky

Thanks

It’s up to you and your family as to the potential risks and whether you are happy with those to go ahead to meet. I’d say if you were to meet him the best thing to do from a safety perspective would be to meet outdoors and socially distanced.

We’re in a similar position to you OP and we do outside distanced for now , my plan is two weeks into summer hols to start going in their house As the kids will Of had two weeks at home to display symptoms from being at school.

Which country are you in?

I wouldn't hesitate to sit in the garden with him (socially distanced) or go for a walk with him (socially distanced) when it's quiet

If they're shielded you shouldn't really be indoors unless you have to, the risk outdoors is so much lower. Are you able to meet outdoors? Then maybe your partner if you have one could bring the kids and they could play at a distance and at least say hi.

In England shielding people have had a letter recently with updates as to when you can meet other people. I'm fairly sure it's only 1 other household outside with social distancing at the moment.

Thanks guys, I decided to meet them on my own for now, still at a distance too. Kids arent very happy! The outdoor would work again when weather is better
