Would you book a holiday to Greece on 22 July?

Currently unable to travel there until 15th. Would you consider it too risky to book a week later? Also what do you think the holiday experience would be like? Same as normal years or not?

No

It won’t be like normal years, it’s a global pandemic I don’t see how it could be. I wouldn’t book a foreign holiday that soon, a Uk one possibly but personally there’s no chance I’d book one abroad right now.

Who was you thinking of booking with? I wouldn’t book anything. Leicester has gone into lockdown so it’s not looking good.

Porcupineinwaiting · 01/07/2020 08:28

No. There's a pretty good chance that the date for flights will be put back again I reckon.

I would book it for August but July seems a little risky. Whatever you do book an airline that lets you change the ticket for free for any reason. BA, Easjyet and Rynair allow penalty free changes.

Have a look here at which companies are allowing flexible bookings:

We're booked for Greece in early August but won't go unless the FCO advice changes.

MirandaWest · 01/07/2020 08:57

I wouldn’t book. That’s only 3 weeks time

@mostwonderfultime we took a punt and booked flights to Greece this time last week when the airbridge was looking hopeful! BA cancelled said flights last night Sad so while I'm all for getting back on the horse and going abroad if the FCO advice changes I think July is going to be highly unpredictable. Greece are obviously cautious at striking a balance between health and wealth (good on them for that!).
I think August might be a better bet. We're going end of August all being well.

I would book to Mars if it meant getting out of the UK. Lockdown has been tough mentally and I need to get away

No due to Covid issues with travel.
But also it is hot hot in Greece at that time.

I’d go in Sept if I could it would be the perfect temperature. We’ve been in July/August and at the end of October and I preferred October!
